In the Style of Redback Wheat Beer

Redback is a fantastic Australian made wheat beer that is pretty easy to find in any up-market bar in Australia. It has a lovely taste anyway but it is pretty common to be asked if you want a slice of lemon in the glass when you order it. Personally I prefer it with the lemon.

This recipe is not a dead ringer but is a good representation of the Redback style using a kit and kilo recipe.

Ingredients

1 can Morgans Golden Sheaf Wheat

1Kg Morgan's Master Blend Beer Enhancer

500g Dextrose

12g Hellertau finishing hops

Wheat bear yeast (you can use the one that comes with the can).

Method

Mix everything up as you normally would for a kit and kilo recipe. The hellerau hops has a strong flavour to you may want to adjust the steeping time to get it just right to suit your taste. I prefer to give it exactly 10 minutes.

Fermenting temp: 18 to 22 degrees C
