Recipe for Home Brewed Beer in the Style of James Squire India Pale Ale
I love a good pale ale more than any other beer hence the good list of pale ale recipes on this site. Pale Ales translate very well to home brewing using the kit and kilo method. I love the way pale ales have a strong bitter taste but retain a beautiful smoothness.
The James Squire IPA is another fine example of a great commercially brewed india pale ale. It is a pity more places don't have it on tap and it can be hard to fin din Queensland. So I have made my own James Squire IPA and the recipe is as follows:
Ingredients:
1 Can Morgans Canadian India Pale Ale
1 Kg dry ultra brew
400gm Dextrose
12gm Fuggles finishing Hops
Method:
Straight forward mix of ingredients. Just make sure you steep the fuggles hops 10 to 15 minutes before adding it to the mix, bag and all.
Starting gravity: 1040
Finishing gravity: 1011
Notes:
I've brewed this one twice now and while the results are not bad, I prefer other beers and don't particularly recommend this recipe.
