Recipe For Dot Beer Pale Ale
The name might be a bit unusual but it comes from the fact that in my house, this beer is identified by a 'dot' marked on the bottle cap. It is in fact a pale ale with some additions.
My favorite beer kit to brew is the Coopers Pale Ale. But I do like a nice amber ale such as the James Squire and the simply awesome Gorden Bierch I had when in San Francisco. So I decided to experiment a little by adding a bag of 'liquid amber' brewing sugar in place of the brew booster. The results were simply fantastic and this is a beer I brew regularly.
The liquid amber brewing sugar I use is a special mix the Quality Home Brew Superstore near my place makes up (visit the links section to find them). Without fail, every time I go there and grab a Coopers Pale Ale kit and a bag of liquid amber, the bloke at the counter tells me the sugar is too dark for that brew. Every time without fail I tell him what an amazing brew it produces!
Ingredients:
1 Can of Coopers pale Ale
1Kg liquid amber brewing sugar
Method:
Simply mix everything together and use the yeast under the lid. Almost always ready for racking or bottling after 4 days. Check the techniques section if you are not sure of the procedure for putting a brew together.
